How to prepare your home for photography
Half an hour of preparation makes all the difference. This is what buyers will see, so here is a short checklist before we arrive.
Before choosing a date
- Send us the address, floor area and floor number
- Let us know about lifts, balconies, gardens or storage rooms
- Tell us beforehand if access needs arranging with building management or a guard
- If you do not own the home, make sure the owner agrees to the photography
We can then confirm the price, travel arrangements and when you will receive the tour before the appointment.
Tidy up
- Clear kitchen worktops and tables
- Make the beds and put away laundry
- Remove visible bins, cleaning products and towels
- There is no need to turn your home into a show apartment: furniture helps buyers see how each room is used
Protect your privacy
- Put away documents, mail, family photographs and medication
- Check mirrors, screens and fridge magnets too
- Tell other occupants that we are coming
Lighting
- Open shutters and curtains
- Switch on all lights and check that the bulbs work
- Open the doors to every room included in the tour
On the day
- We move from room to room with the camera, so people and pets can wait in a room we have already photographed
- Keep furniture in place during the session
- Have keys ready for every area to photograph: storage rooms, roof access and parking
- Leave some time after the appointment: the session can occasionally take a little longer
When your tour arrives
- Look through the tour and photos before publishing them
- Send buyers the link before their visit: through WhatsApp, Yad2, Madlan or your website
